Church Furniture

Acorn Furniture has created a variety of pieces of solid wood furniture that complement existing church furniture or even set a new tone for a church meeting place.

Storage Unit

All Saints Parish Church in Saughall, near Chester, commissioned the design and production of a storage unit that would have enough space to store a wedding kneeler. 'Push to open' catches were used to remove the need for door handles.

Benches and Kneelers

St. David's Catholic Church in Mold commissioned a Welsh Oak floor, two benches and two kneelers to fit in an alcove of the church. You can see how the CAD design perfectly matches the finished product.

Presidential Chair

Having made the two benches and kneelers (above) for St. David's Catholic Church in Mold, Nick was given a challenge by the Bishop to design a Presidential Chair (for the priest who presides over the mass) that would complement both the very angular existing lectern (complete with Chi Rho symbols) and the new, very rounded benches. Also stools for his assistants and benches for the altar boys.

Memorial

Nick first met Ruth when she was seven years old and her husband, Bob, a short time later! When Bob asked Nick to a make a memorial to Ruth, he felt honoured and challenged. These pictures show the prototype in oak and the final one, made from pear wood, which hangs in St. Paul's Anglican Church in Boughton, Chester.

Bible Stands

Nick was commissioned to design and make these stands to display restored Victorian Family Bibles that were being individually exported to America. The brief requested the stands to be made from English oak, to fold flat and to be assembled without the aid of a screwdriver.
