Acorn Furniture's Environmental Sustainability Policy

Please note that the aspect of our sustainability policy I am most proud of, is using timber from local trees to make furniture:

Acorn Furniture - Environmental Sustainability Policy

We will ensure that every aspect of our activities is conducted in accordance with sound environmental practices.

We will achieve this by:

  1. A responsible, thoughtful and sensible approach to minimise our impact on the planet and its resources.
  2. Recycling the whole of the tree, through the creation of bespoke furniture and woodcarvings or for use as firewood or woodchip.
  3. Using local trees that were not even grown for timber, frequently from tree surgery work.
  4. Reusing and recycling all resources whenever practical.
  5. Careful planning of our travel to minimise miles driven for all our activities.
  6. Investing in appropriate vehicles, machines and tools which are adequate to the task and optimising the life of the asset in line with our Health and Safety Policy.
  7. Being careful never to burn plastics because of the danger of creating dioxins.

Acorn Furniture aims to foster among its staff, suppliers, customers, and communities local to its operations an understanding of environmental issues in the context of its business. Our collective task is to ensure that we continually improve the environmental impact of our total global activities.

By this policy Acorn Furniture recognises its responsibility towards protection of the environment, and issues this statement as a commitment of both management and employees to minimising the environmental impact of its operations.
