The four dining tables were all specified by their eventual recipients. The first was for the customers themselves and the other three were for each of their three children. As it turned out there were two pairs of similar tables.
This bench was to use the first and last planks from the log which only had one flat face each. It was designed to go in its own little shelter in the garden.
All five coffee tables were made from slices cut from the end of the log before it was planked. As the family ride horses, we decided to make the legs with hooves! The last slice fell in two so we made a feature of the repair instead of hiding it.
The request for this Kitchen Island Unit was that it should have: - cupboards - a towel rack - tray storage - a compost bin accessible through the top - a discrete general rubish bin accessible without opening a door
This Cellist's Music Stand was to be made as a surprise but as it is not adjustable, it had to be right first time; this involved some espionage with a tape measure in the music room. The treble clef seemed a nice touch at the time but apparently a cello plays notes on a base clef. I had no idea.
